The Bears Front Office Dilemma

A couple weeks ago, the Chicago Bears announced they had fired GM Jerry Angelo, and hours later Mike Martz resigned (and has now retired).  Jerry Angelo shouldn't have ever been there in the first place, and Martz wanted to run the greatest show on turf offense.  Finally a good decision!

Angelo failed to pay his best offensive player this year, and Martz's system was never going to work in Chicago. They run the ball, and play excellent defense.  Know your team.

I say bring in the Polians!  After the dumb move by the Colts to fire them, Bill and Chris could come in and draft offensive lineman and receivers (hey, there's an idea, draft players who play positions where you're horrible at) and keep the guys you know are necessary for trying to get back to the super bowl.  I think they would keep Lovie Smith as head coach, knowing how important that Cover 2 defense is in Chicago.

  1. Will they be able to turn it around next year, or are we in for more disappointment?

  2. Until they find a new General Manager, it's hard to say. Promoting Mike Tice to Offensive Coordinator seems like a horrible idea, considering he was the O-Line coach who let Jay Cutler get sacked 60+ times just 2 seasons ago. The NFC North is getting more competitive, so if Lovie can keep them playing great D, and they get a couple young studs in the draft, it should be looking up for Da Bears.
